Rope replacement

Rope replacement. Standard issue. Regular replacement of ropes as part of crane maintenance. Replacement due to damage or wear of the rope. Shortly, nothing extraordinary. But… what if it is an accident where the rope gets tangled on the rope drum? What if the rope has a diameter of 22 mm? And is it 80 meters long? And is it wound on a Stahl wire rope hoist ASF 7040-32 ZW 4/2-1 L1 twin hoist with two rope drums? Of course, in the M7 classification and with a lifting speed of 16 m/min. Such rope replacement is no longer standard crane maintenance. It is an event that needs to be thoroughly prepared and planned. Especially when it is a process crane that loads raw materials into a furnace in a foundry. And do you know what? We replaced the rope…as if it were a standard rope replacement…just replaced…
