A global manufacturer of single-purpose machines requested power supplies for the moving forks of a single-purpose manipulator. The peculiarity of this request was the demanding environment - this manipulator is intended for handling molten aluminum which creates radiant heat of the surrounding environment approx. 200°C. The environment is also very dusty. The vertical travel height of this application is 1,800 mm and hoses are stored in the power chain. For this application, it is necessary to solve conflicting requirements - to ensure the stable reliability of the power supply system even in these demanding conditions (i.e. ideally to cover the energy chain) and at the same time to ensure the best possible cooling of the hoses that are stored in the energy chain (i.e. not to enclose them in a closed space ). For this solution, a steel chain type SLA 320 /150 x 3200 / 180-N/E ''s'' with individually adjusted milled aluminum crossbars was chosen. The chain was chosen to be open and the customer placed the hoses in heat-resistant protective sleeves.
