The motorized cable reel is used to power a manipulator designed for handling boards in the woodworking industry. The Finnish end user required not only a high degree of operational reliability but also placed emphasis on above-standard performance technical parameters of the entire device. The travel length of the manipulator is 260m and the cable reel winds 130m of 5x10mm2 cable. Due to the high travel speed of 160 m/min and high acceleration of 0.3 m/s2, the cable reel is controlled by a frequency converter and equipped with a device controlling the maximum and minimum tension in the cable. The winding drum type G2-F90-T10241-63P05-IP55-C3-UT2040-KL-END4 operates in the lowest ambient temperatures reaching up to -30°C.
